Blog # 4 Text Set, Art of Leonardo Da Vinci and the Renaissance  One of the challenges teachers face is collecting and providing accessible and motivating texts that support the content-area curriculum. In order to learn and understand the concepts of specific topics, students need to have a wide range of reading materials that are appropriate in reading level and that will engage and motivate all students. The topic that I want to present to my classes will be Leonardo Da Vinci and his part in the Early Renaissance. I  believe that there is enough material for an extended art appreciation, research and creation unit. Visual Understanding

Blog # 3 Visualizing Understanding My example for this principal is attached. I created two instructional guides for my students, The Posters create a visual way for my students to benefit from the six benefits of visualizations. The posters provide a method for my students to understand why they should be interested in the material. Present a visual method of learning for my visual learners. Promote comprehension by providing the initial ideas that my students can scaffold their learning upon. Promotes deeper understanding of the material I am teaching by showing them the thesis / principals of the material. Increases discipline specific / rote specific ideas in a visual way. I am presenting. posing these questions and also questions that they can ask will critiquing other works as well. Where am I and where do I want to be.

I continue to work at becoming an exemplary Art Educator.  My goal is to develop additional talents, resources and instruments which will assist me in reaching my students and communicate in them an individual desire to understand and excel in the Art curriculum.  We talk about the accommodations we can use to reach our struggling students understand the concepts of Art, methods I and past educators have created and continually improving on. An accommodation that I feel will add to our Art curriculum is literature. We understand that instilling a sense of desire / joy in reading will assist us as well as our students to reach our goals.   Even though Art Instruction is presently not confined by the Core Curriculum Competencies like several of the other basis studies, The being discussed / proposed Wisconsin State Core Curriculum Competencies pertaining to Art Instruction for the fourth grade include several areas where reading writing and literacy will support learning

Hello and welcome to my Curriculum Instruction 545 Introduction blog page I’m Todd Fischer and I am currently in the process of earning my Baccalaureate of Art degree in Art Education at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee  I am the father of five wonderful adults, four daughters, and a son who is the oldest. I have been happily married to an elementary education teacher who I meet while attending the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and have been so for the past 27 years.  I grew up in the town of and attended Muskego High school. I currently live and commute from my Washington Park, Milwaukee home where I have resided for the last 26 years    I retired in (2007) after 25 years from the United States Marine Corps as a Chief Warrant Officer three, and recently (2018) retired from the Milwaukee Police Department after 26 years as a Violent Crimes Division Detective.
